I realized a couple days ago that I hadn’t posted in two weeks. I was hit with a wave of panic, but then I realized that it is still early in the game so it isn’t the end of the world. However, I cannot have that long of lapse again. I began to worry that I had wasted the month but looking back there was quite a bit achieved even if it wasn’t posted.
The house cleaning continued with items being sorted and sold on Ebay. My car is loaded up for a delivery to Goodwill tomorrow. My new passport arrived. Between the thick covers and the extra pages it looks more like a prayer book. I began work on a freelance website project for a friend’s law firm. I was nervous as I hadn’t done any real hands on web design in some time, but the proofs looked good and they seem happy with them. Will be a good site for the portfolio when it is completed. I spent a week in Wisconsin for work. Got to see Lambeau Field and go to a fish boil. It tasted much better than it sounds. Had an aborted work trip to Omaha and instead spent the day in O’Hare. I better get used to travel delays.
Oh, and I told my boss that I was leaving at the end of the year. It went well. People seem disappointed but also excited about the trip. Thankfully no calls to axe me prematurely. I have a couple projects I am working on that I’d like to see through and leave them in a position to be handed off to the next person. It is difficult to maintain focus on work, while preparing for the trip, documenting the trip, building up possible income sources and spending time with friends and family. I have setup many of the social media accounts for this site but I haven’t started posting to them yet because I know that once I start I can’t stop. That’s when it really becomes official. I’ve waited too long though and that has to start this week. Ever forward.
