]]> http://thetimetogoisnow.com/2014/07/the-great-bamberg-beer-crawl/#comment-397319 Sun, 03 Sep 2017 11:06:04 +0000 http://thetimetogoisnow.com/?p=7442#comment-397319 Just crawled back from Bamberg.You need a week at least,there are so many villages around there each with a brewery.Easy to get to by bus from Bamberg bus station or cycle there.Be careful of the “ruhrtag”(rest day) especially monday and tuesday.Tuesday is the official rest day in Bamberg,half the buses are off!My fav.bus route was the 907 to Memmelsdorf (two pubs,Hohn and Drei Kronen),then to Drosendorf (Gollerbrau),then to Merkendorf (Wagnerbrauerai and Hummelbrauerai,this was one of my favourite pubs of the whole trip (Hummel smokebeer mmmmm,the best next to Schlenkerla).The 906 bus from Bamberg takes you to the Zur Sonne brewery in Bishberg (about 15 minutes ride),this family owned pub brews 6 of their own!…and great food!!Accomodation also,just crawl upstairs to bed! as I did.Don`t want to publicise this pub too much as I wish to stay there next summer!
