We’ve booked the flights for the first leg of our journey: Indianapolis to San Jose, Costa Rica and San Jose to Lima, Peru. Julie was able to find a good deal on both one-way tickets via Kayak. The total for the flights was under $700 per person. Of course to save a little extra money requires some interesting connections. Our flight to San Jose sees us first stop in Los Angeles and then Guatemala City before continuing on to Costa Rica. We figured that since we aren’t in a hurry, making an extra connection to save a few hundred dollars was the way to go.
We will be leaving Indianapolis on January 21 which means we are officially within the four month window. We seem to be on track. We have both been busy with work hence the long gap since the last post. That and I blatantly ignored my own advice about procrastination and would not walk away from the Xbox. It’s football season….I’m not made of stone. However, we have made some forward progress in the last two weeks. We both have purchased our hiking boots for the trip. I’ve started getting my immunizations and Julie has scheduled her appointment. Cleaning out the house is an ongoing process but steady progress is being made. I can actually walk from the door of my office to my desk without tripping over something for the first time in months.
Now that we know our dates of travel we can turn our attention to building our itinerary and booking some lodging. Already have some apartments tagged on Airbnb. It will be nice to get those confirmed.
On a side note, less than three months left at my current job.
